STALLION PARADE.

AT ELTHAM. At Kltham on Saturday afternoon v a supplementary parade of stud horses, uuuor tno auspices of the Egmont A. and P. Association was held on Mr. t. \V. Riley's pioperty. There was a good show of Horses, bub the parade was somewhat poorly attended oy the public. Draughts. -Mr. tV. T. Bailey showed Fascination, a live year old Clydesdale by Federation one of Peggy, notn parenis ocing well bred. Inreo of ins two year old stock, which were sold in the winter, realised an average of £35 each. Other draughts on the ground wore 1 imo o’ Hay and Lincoln Tom, both very fine animals. Thoroughbreds. Foremost (Forme—Phoebus Apollo) was entered by Mr. H. G. Nicholas. Foremost’s blood on both sides is well Known, and his stock should be in demand. He is at Havey’s Stables, Stratford, every Tuesday. Husbandman, a well-known performer on the turf a few years ago, was shown. He stands at Hawera. Gravitation, St. Paul and Guinaforto, were also on the ground. Hackneys and Trotters. The Ngaire horse Baron D (Rothschild—Calais) was on the ground. Rothschild’s gets have excellent performances to their credit, and Baron J) is claimed to reproduce his sire’s best qualities. Baron 1) stands at Ngaire, but will travel the surrounding districts. itio imported hackney Victory (Vanity Fair—Vanity) was entered by Mr. W. T. Bailey. Victory is eight years old and stands 16 hands, ana it is claimed that his progeny have special qualifications as harness horses, having a unique combination of substance and activity. Recently one of his gets was sold unbroken for £26, and others have commanded excellent orices. ■

Mr. A. E. King, Kaponga, showed Albert Chevalier (Berlin —Queen Emma), sire of Vesta Nash, Dora, Gipsy, El. Darat, Tho Urchin, Airedale, Valerio, Little Wonder, and Huia Belle, all of which are trotting winners. Albert Chevalier has been standing in the district for the past nine years with considerable success, one of his progeny being sold the other dav for £125. f ■' Other sires shown were Imperial Child, Rothschild Lad, and Rothschild’s Pride. PARADE AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Tho parade at New Plymouth on Saturday -was quite a local function, no outside horses being present. Mr. J. Bond paraded the two thoroughbred stallions, Campfire and Sylvia Park, and for pedigre and track performances these two sires just about fill the bill. Campfire is a son of Carbine, by Revelry, and is eight years old, a Grown horse standing 16 hands. He is in splendid nickj and displays a lot of the Musket character in his powerful quarters, back and loins, whilst he also has a lovely head and nock, and behaves like a gentleman. Sylvia Park, a chestnut, is well-known as a getter of pace. Ilis understandings are built on heavier lines than those of his stable-mate, and the old fellow is looking very well. Volume, - one of his gets, won the Feilding, Hawke’s Bay, Hawera, and Waitara Cups, and the New Zealand St. Leger, besides running second to Zimmerman in Northern Derby. Ivaharoa; another of Sylvia Park’s progeny, .holds tho record for the Hawera course (six furlongs in Imin 14sec) and the Wanganui course (II miles in 2min S^sec).
