FINED FOR CONTEMPT. ■ Melbourne, Septeiribr 22. Smart, publisher of the newspaper “Herald”, was fined £2OO, and Davidson, the .editor, £IOO and three days’ imprisonment for alleged contempt in publishing articles in connection with the Peacock case. Davidson’s sentence was suspended on his entering a bond of £lO for good behaviour.
