The Minister of Works has promised as far as possible to give effect to the Chamber of Manufacturers’ deputation’s request that preference be accorded to Australian-made goods. In the Assembly, the Parliamentary Education Amendment Bill, dealing with alterations and extensions of the franchise, was reintroduced. Mr Wood again came into conflict with the Speaker and, was removed from the House. (Received 13, 10.10 a.m.) Melbourne, September 13. The Assembly road the Preferential Voting Bill the third time by 31 to 23.
