Wellington, August 30. When the young man William Francis Bowman was charged on remand at the Magistrate’s Court to-day witix unlawfully killing John Long, the police offered no evidence, and accused was discharged. The action was the result of evidence given at the inquest, which showed that Dowman pushed Long, who, while intoxicated was about to strike bis wife. Long fell over and fractured Jiis skull, and died subsequently.
