GREAT GREENSTONE FIND.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 28. Private advices from the West Coast report the important discovery of what is believed to be the mother reef from which all the greenstone found there is derived. It is high up the mountain in the Arahura district, and whether actually the original reef or not, there is a vast outcrop of greenstone, amounting to millions of tons. A syndicate has been formed to exploit it. With greenstone in such quantity, its use tv ill no longer be confined to jewellery, and the idea is to put it to commercial purposes in the form of mantlepiocos, table-tops, monuments, etc. It is also understood that there will be a large market in China, where greenstone in the form of lode is regarded with peculiar veneration.
