Washington, August 1 3 Disregarding Mr Talc’- lelegiapHc protest, the Senate amended the Anglo-French-American arbitration treaties, eliminating the provision conferring special powers on a joint high commission. Old World dominance is feared by Senators, reference being made to Sir James Bryce’s book on the American Commonwealth, which, years ago, attacked the Senate for political Idas m t eaty-making. Mr Taft did not intend tr agree to the deletion of the objectionable paragraph, and the fate of the treaties hangs in the balance.
