- George Perkins, director of the United States Steel Corporation, examined by the Congressional Enquiry, refused to answer questions relating tc private campaign contributions made by the New York Life Insurance Company. The committee warned Perkins he was likely to bo imprisoned for contempt of Congress. Perkins thereupon asked for time to recon-

sider his refusal, and his request was granted.
