CONCERT AT THE HOSPITAL.

A very successful concert, organised by Mi s. C. Penn, was held at tno Hospital lust evening. Tne- piano was moved into the spacious men’s ward, and the patients had the pleasure of hearing some very line music, and wei o very appreciative, responding heartily to each item. The opening item was played by tho Stratford Orchestral Society, who rendered “Tancrecli,” “Babette,” “Torok Magyar,” intermezzo, “Forget Me Not,” German’s “Henry V'111.,” “Hancss -and Hlack Cat Capers,” all reflecting great credit on the capable conductor, air. Rogers. Mrs. Ciiinclion, who possesses a very sweet voice, sang with much expression “Honey, Hoar.” Mrs. Budd gave a pianoforte solo, “Dignity Garotte.” Mr. Frank Bird sang the overpopular song, “’file Veteran,” and “Tno Little liish Girl.” Mr Twiss received unstinted applause for his rendering of “Big Bon” and “Beauty’s Eyes.” Tiie accompaniments were played by Mesdames Penn and Budd. The programme was concluded by tho playing of “God Save* tiie King” by the oichestra. Subsequently a dainty supper was served in the dining-room by tae neat-ly-garbed nurses. Among those present were Mesdames Stohr, C'Jiinchen, Penn Budd, Miss Anderson, Miss O’Brien (matron), and four nurses.
