THE TERRITORIALS.
IN UNMILITARY-LIKE DISPLAY. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 1. Some 200 newly-enrolled Territorials ■n the Hutt Valley received summonses to attend for medical inspection last light. Tlio summonses were obeyed >y a most unmilitary-like display of •iotous insubordination. For an hour before the appointed time a rabble •f youths marched about the streets <f Petono shouting, hooting, and tin banging. When they arrived at their lestination they defied all attempts of Sergeant-Major Millet to range them in any semblance of order, and for a :imo took charge of the proceedings. .They laughed, boohed and hooted at ihe Sergeant-Major, throwing mud at him freely.. Ho wisely kept his temper, and after some mud-slingers had received chastisement >at his hands, tlio examination whs proceed'd with under difficulties. The worst ■ulprits appeared to be boys of 16 or 17 years of, age.
