ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) Eketahuna, July 27. A young man named Shirley, while busrhfelling at Otea, was caught by a tree springing back and his right leg was severely crushed. He was brought into Eketahuna and it was found ne-. cecsary to amputate the limb below the knee. He is progressing favourably. Pahiatua, July 27. A serious accident occurred to Dir Henry Futcher, borough cartel*. He was engaged in carting the trimmings from the trees of the town squares, and was just about to drive off with a load, when he fell off the dray on to the road. Futcher, who is an eldeily man, sustained very serious injuries to his spine, and lie lies in a critical state. Whangarei, July 27. Charles Taylor, married, of Wha- - kapara, left Hikurangi for home last night, and his dead body was found on the road to Ototanga this morning. The police are investigating.
