THE BAND.
(To the Editor “Strulfoid Post.”) Sir, —Kindly allow me space to reply to Mr. 'Will Diamond’s letter referring to remarks made hy mo at a special meeting of tho Conned,ou Monday nigljt. Firstly, J stated that I understood that the hand had got the sack from tho theatre job, and 1 consider 1 was right in saying so, when Mr. Diamond informed tho band on Coronation night (there being only four) that lie did not want thong any more, and they have not been since. Secondly, I never passed any remarks about the condition of the instruments; 1 only said that they were here, there, and everywhere. Thirdly, 1 did not state that the instruments were to be called in for the purpose of storing them away in a damp room so as to allow cobwebs and verdigris to attack, them, but merely to got them in and reorganise the hand on a sound basis, which is urgently needed. Thanking von in anticipation.— T am, etc., T. LAWSON.
