RECOGNITION WITHHELD

Various foreign legations have recommended their respective Governments to withhold recognition of the Portuguese Republic until the foreigd churches in Portugal are exempted from the clauses of the new Act, placing their financial and other affairs under the complete control of the Portuguese Administrative Committee.
