DISTRICT NURSES’ SATURDAY. (Per Press Association.) Wanganui, Last Night. “Distrist Nurses’ Saturday” resulted in the collection of £370. This easily beats last year’s record, which was just under £3OO. The league now has two nurses employed. BURNHAM BOYS CAUGHT. Christchurch, Last Night. Three boys, escapees from the Burnham Institute, wore arrested at Coalgate last night, and will bo charged with the theft of Dr Brown’s motor car. THE RACING COMMISSION. Christchurch. Last Night. 'The Racing Commission reassembles at Wellington on Monday, and Sir Geo. Clifford and Mr M. Cohen, the South Island members, leave for Wellington this evening. ’ PAY DAY AT ADDINGTON. Christchurch, Last Night. A new system of paying the men in the employ of the railway workshops at Addington was brought into operation last Friday. The men signed the paysheet as the money was counted, and it is claimed that this system worked more expeditiously than the system previously in vogue.
