AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION.
FOR THE WEST COAST. PROVISIONAL~cdMMITTEE APPOINTED. : Mr. L. A. Abraham, . Palmerston North, at the suggestion of the Hawke’s Bay Association, called a mooting with a view to forming ah Automobile Association for; tlio Wefit Coast. This was attended oh Tuesday by some fifteen owners ofmotor cars, over whom Mr 11. S. Abraham presided. "! : ['■ ~ ‘ i There was considerable discussion upon the whole question, during which it.was pointed out that such associations had done a very groat deal ot pood elsewhere in protecting the public from reckless and incompetent motorists, in securing improvements m loads from which all users of roads benefited, in Securing that all vehicles, motor or horse, drawn or pedalled, gained lights, and in preventing imposition or vexatious actio is'on either •idfe.'. ■■ •' w ''.'‘A ■- ■ . J It was stated that there was already an association at, Fedding, and that it would be desirable it the two could bo joined, in olio, strong body to cover the whole of the MnnawfitU and Rangitikei districts. , . .i, ..1t was ultimately that. Messrs F. S. Goldingham, I; H. Cook, F. J. Nathan, A. Sutherland, and L. A. Abraham be a provisional committee,to consider the best means of securing the forination of an'association for the district, and, if possible, in conjunction with the 5 eliding.
