At a meeting of the Shopkeepers’ Defence Association, it was resolved to ask the Government to repeal the Early Closing Act, especially that portion relating to the compulsory Saturday half-holiday, which was stated to bo driving small shopkeepers out of business. ) 1 - SIR JOSEPH WARD’S SCHEME.
