SECOND LIBERTY LOAN

Southland’s contribution to the second Liberty Loan now amounts to £122,100. This sum has been contributed by 336 applicants. Yesterday there were 39 applications for loan stock, the sum involved being £’Bo6o. Persons wishing to withdraw money from the Post Ofiice savings bank at Invercargill for reinvestment in the loan may hand both the withdrawal slip and loan application form in at the withdrawal ledger window, where the whole transaction will be completed. In this way the handling of the money will be avoided and business will be expedited, as applicants will not be required to attend at any other counter. An interim receipt for the loan subscription will be received with the returned passbook.
