DUNEDIN MARKETS
(P.A.) DUNEDIN, October 30. Heavy rains experienced during the past 10 days should do an immense amount of good in Central Otago and North Otago. In some localities falls of snow were also experienced. As a result the prospects of a good harvest for all cereals have been materially improved. The oats market remains lifeless. Odd lots ! of table potatoes are still reaching the market. but the trading by merchants is really negligible. Crops of early potatoes are looking well, but the buffeting they have received during the past few days from winds has caused some damage. Business in seeds remains quiet and there is little life in the export trade. Inquiries, however, are still being received from overseas for browntop and Chewings fescue. Orders from overseas for Chewings fescue have still to be executed, but merchants are finding it difficult to secure the necessary shipping. There is no inquiry from overseas for white clover or ryegrass.
