REVENUE OF PORT OF BLUFF
ESTIMATE EXCEEDED
The revenue of the Bluff Harbour Board for the year ended September 30 was £1653 above the estimate and the expenditure was £3023 below the estimate, according to a report presented to the board last night by the secretary (Mr R. N. Porter). The net position was £4676 better than expected. The total revenue was £40,627, compared with £39,513 in the previous year. The principal items were wharfage dues, £23,977 (£23,827) and ship’s charges £8794 (£9908). The expenditure was £44,074. There was a balance of expenditure over receipts of £4560. Mr D. H. Cockburn commented that the position was extremely satisfactory for the present conditions. The chairman (Mr W. J. A. McGregor) said the amount of shipping handled at the port exceeded expectations.
