(Special) WELLINGTON, October 29. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Fresh to strong westerly to southwesterly winds later decreasing. A few scattered showers, but the weather mainly fair; temperatures cold.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was cold and showery with a strong westerly wind.
At 1 o’clock this morning a light southwesterly wind was blowing. The sky was clear. The barometer reading was 30.001 n (rising). THE TIDES.—High water, Invercargill, 6.48 a.m.. 7.16 p.m.; Bluff, 6.07 a.m., 6.35 p.m.; Riverton, 5.07 a.m., 5.35 p.m.; Oreti Beach, 5.16 a.m., 5.44 p.m. THE SUN Rises 5.28 a.m., sets 7.35 p.m.
