Mr H. G. Robertson has been appointed secretary of the Southland Cricket Association.
Lieutenant R. L. Davis, of Ontario, Canada, was the guest during the weekend of Mr and Mrs H. L. Lang, 65 Conyers street.
Mr Maurice Roderique has been appointed supervisor of the Otago and Southland District Pig Council and will begin his duties on November 10. Mr C. G. Pilcher, of Bluff, who has been a member of the Borough Council for a number of years, has disposed of his business and is taking up farming at Lumsden. He will leave Bluff next week.
Reference to the services given by the late Mr K. B. Bain, of Christchurch, who was the resident delegate of the Southland Cricket Association on the New Zealand Cricket Association for several years, was made by Mr George Agnew, president of the Southland Association, last evening. It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to his relations.
