Miss Betty Aspray, Dee street, has left on a visit to Oamaru.

Miss Winifred Sinclair, Morton street, has left to spend a holiday in Dunedin. Mrs W. J. McKltterick, Gala street, has been spending a few days in Dunedin. Mrs Leonard Webb, Albert street, is the guest of Miss Fynes-Clinton, Opawa. Miss Joan McFarland, Dunedin, is the guest of Mrs W. E. Hunt. Waitoru Downs. Miss Leona Barrett, Dee street, is the guest of Mrs W. Hamilton, Park street, Winton.

Mr and Mrs D. J. Wesney, Thomson street, will return on Wednesday from a visit to Queenstown. Miss Jean Scandrett, Miss Betty Scandrett and Miss Ethel Woodward, Victoria Avenue, are spending a few days at Queenstown. Mrs W. S. Allen, Christchurch, is expected to arrive on Monday to visit her parents, Mr and Mrs R. M. Strang, Lewis street.

A pleasant afternoon was spent at the home of Mrs G. G. Sutherland, Edendale, when Mrs Torrance, wife of the stationmaster, was farewelled. Mrs Cranstoun (an octogenarian) presented Mrs Torrance with a crystal bowl, and musical items were given by Mesdames Christiansen and Sutherland.

Will the members of the North Invercargill branch of the Red Cross meet for sewing on Tuesday at 2.30 p.m. A committee meeting will follow. Ov 658.
