RICKENBACKER NOW MISSING
Famous American Air Ace (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 24.
The War Department announced that Captain Eddie Rickenbacker, America’s most famous ace of the last war, is three days overdue on an inspection flight between Oahu and other Pacific islands. The plane was in radio contact with the island when south-west of Honolulu on Wednesday afternoon, when it reported that it had slightly more than one hour’s supply of petrol. No contact has been made since.
All tire available air and sea forces have joined in the search for the missing ace and his crew.
