MEN are URGENTLY NEEDED for IMPORTANT SHORE STATION WORK in Royal N.Z. Navy. Men up to 45 years of age (and in special cases up to 50) with not more than three children, and of good character and intelligence are required, but special qualifications and previous knowledge of the sea not necessary. Electrical or mechanical knowledge an advantage but not essential. Selected candidates required to undergo a medical examination not as stringent as required for service afloat. Those appointed will be entered as Able Seamen, and paid as such with usual allowances. Applications should be made to Director of Naval Recruiting Auckland from whom full conditions of service and pay may be obtained. 4629 ROYAL N.Z. NAVY. Men under 21 must have completed three years’ apprenticeship others at least 4 years. Men over 40 with Marine experience considered for entry as Engine Room Artificers under a special agreement.
