CHRISTMAS REMITTANCE

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 22. Referring today to the Government's decision to allow a Christmas remittance of £7/10/- to be sent to men overseas in addition to the £3O a year allowed, the Secretary to the Treasury, Mr B. C. Ashwin, said the money could be sent through the normal remitting channels, but bank lodgment slips must be marked “Christmas remittance.” Such remittances must be lodged by November 24.
