RESPIRATORS FOR E.P.S. WORKERS

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 21. Respirators for wardens and Emergency Precautions Service workers are being distributed in the Auckland metropolitan area. Supplies are available in the first instance for technical units and wardens’ groups in tlie inner area of the city under the supervision of certificated gas identification officers. Forty district headquarters will be used in the city and suburbs for fitting masks and instructing ’ individuals in their use. Each mask will be personally fitted by an expert. The respirators have been manufactured in New Zealand and are modelled on the standard civilian respirators issued in Britain. In the first allocation for Auckland there are about 60,000 respirators.
