N.Z. BOMBER PILOTS

Presentation Of Tankards

(Special Correspondent, N.ZP.A.)

(Rec. 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, October 21. The High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, will shortly present to the No. 75 (New Zealand) Wellington Bomber Squadron 12 tankards which are a present from a former commanding officer, Group Captain M. W. Buckley. This is a time honoured practice and the majority of officers have presented tankards to the squadron. Many tankards, unfortunately, are now bearing the names of those lost over Germany. The New Zealand liaison officer, Air Commodore L. M. Isitt, will shortly present the New Zealand TorpedoBomber Squadron with a picture of a kiwi sent to England by Mr Harry Mackintosh, of Wellington, on behalf of the Civil Service Club. Air-Commodore Isitt has had it framed. The squadron’s crest includes a kiwi standing on a torpedo, for which reason the picture is most appropriate.
