(Special) WELLINGTON, October 21. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to strong north-west and westerly winds. The weather mainly fair with a few showers in the western ranges and later along the south coast; temperature moderate.
The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and sunny with a cool westerly breeze. THE TIDES.— High water, Invercargill, 1.11 a.m., 1.33 p.m.; Bluff, 12.30 a.m., 12.52 p.m.; Riverton, 1.30 a.m., 1.52 p.m.; Oreti Beach. 1.39 a.m., 2.01 p.m. THE SUN.— Rises. 5.39 a.m.; sets, 7.24 p.m. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was cool and heavily overcast with a slight north-westerly wind. The barometer reading was 29.90 in (steady).
