DENTAL CLINIC AT NORTH SCHOOL
Permission For Erection Granted
Advice that the Building Controller had given permission for the erection of a dental clinic at the North Invercargill school was received last night by Mr R. T. Parsons, chairman of the dental clinic committee, from Mr W. M. C. Denham, M.P. Mr Parsons said his committee would probably ask the Southland Education Board’s architect, Mr J. J. Gough, to prepare plans and specifications. He hoped that the new clinic would be ready for use at the beginning of the next school year. The sum of £176 has been raised to meet the cost of the clinic. More than half the money was raised with the assistance of the Mayor (Mr A. Wachner), who co-operated with Mr Parsons in a personal canvass of residents of the school district. It is considered that the present arrangement of a central clinic in the city is not satisfactory.
