GIRL GUIDES’ SPORTS
The annual district sports rally of the Girl Guides was held on Saturday. Nine companies competed and with the ground in excellent condition some good races were seen. The Watson Cup was won by the North Invercargill Company with an easy lead, St. John’s Company being runner-up and Bluff third. Results were as follows:— Junior 75 Yards.—June Winter (North Invercargill) 1, M. Hall (Lindisfarne) 2, L. Dallard (Lindisfarne) 3. Senior 100 Yards. —A. Aitken (North Invercargill) 1, A. Clima (St. Andrew’s) 2, D. Willocks and A. Holloway (North Invercargill) equal, 3. Threelegged Race. —A. Aitken and J. Winter (North Invercargill) 1, M. Stevens and N. Dawson (North Invercargill) 2, D. Willocks and J. Paterson (North Invercargill) 3. Catch the Train. —D. Willocks (North Invercargill) 1, S. Reid and T. Herron (High School), equal, 2. Sack Race.—A. Royds (All Saints) 1, A. Holloway (North) 2, V. Casey (All Saints) 3. Egg and Spoon Race. —G. Quelch (High School) 1, N. Macalister (All Saints) 2, Joyce Petrie (Enwood) 3.
