SHORTY—(I) Dairy farming has not been listed as an essential industry. (2) The facts should be placed before the commander of the Home Guard battalion concerned. He has power to grant leave from parades in such cases. ENQUIRER —When the question was referred to Mr W. F. Sturman, honorary secretary of the Southland Provincial Patriotic Council, he said that it was too vague and suggested that it should be referred to the patriotic committee of the zone in which the district is situated.
