CHURCHILL AUCTION

On Wednesday of next week the Churchill Auction will be held in Dunedin and bids may now be sent in to the radio station 4YZ for tlie Churchill Book. The progress of the bidding will be announced from the main stations from time to time. Dates have now been fixed for the various centres as follows:—Dunedin, October 21; Auckland, October 28; Wellington, November 5; New Plymouth, early in November. The New Plymouth committee was the last one to begin activities and yet in a short space of time it has secured a splendid collection of gifts. Any late gifts should be forwarded to the city auction concerned immediately so that they can be included in the supplementary catalogue. Gifts will be received up to two or three days before the sale. At 7 o'clock this evening Mr H. B. Farnall, the district organizer, will explain in a talk from station 4YZ the aims and objects of the Churchill Auction and give a list of the gifts that have been sent from Southland. These will be included in the Dunedin sale.
