ELECTION PROPOSAL
Mr Holland’s Explanation (P.A.) DUNEDIN, October 12. Interviewed this morning Mr S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, said that in the Christchurch interview on the election he had been misunderstood. He had not said it should be held in three months, but that it would require that period to complete preparations. He definitely held that an election should take place when war conditions permitted. These were unfavourable at present, but a time when New Zealand troops were resting, as they were recently doing in Libya, would be suitable.
