CHAMPIONSHIP PLATE OF GOLF CLUB Some good performances were given bycompetitors in the Gore Golf Club’s championship plate held on the club's links at Croydon. The senior division was won by L. G. Thomson and D. S. McLeod won the junior division. Both showed good form. Thomson put up the best performance of the day in his afternoon round when he returned a card of 81 from an eight handicap, giving him a net score of one below bogey. His aggregate for the day was 171. L. T. Cockerlll was runner-up with 177, and

C. W. Adamson was third. The results were: Championship Plate—Senior division: L. G. Thomson 90-81-171; L. T. Cockerill 89-88-177; C. W. Adamson 88-90-178. Junior division: D. S. McLeod 94-91-185; A. S. Atkins 95-93-188; W. F. Young 98-97-195. Medal Rounds—Morning: J. P. Bishop 89-15-74; L. T. Cockerill 89-14-75. Afternoon: L. G. Thomson 81-8-73; L. T. Cockerill 88-14-74. An L.G.U. match played by members of the Gore Ladies' Golf Club resulted as follows:—Mrs A. D. Reid 97-22-75; Mrs B. Hoffmann 117-36-81. ROTARY CLUB—An interesting address on his experiences on service in Canada, the United States and Great Britain was given by Sergeant J. L. Ferguson, of the R.A.F., during an address at yesterday’s meeting of the Gore Rotary Club. He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
