PERSONAL

Mr W. M. C. Denham, M.P., the Hon. T. F. O’Byrne, M.L.C., and the Hon. T. F. Doyle, M.L.C., will leave today for Wellington to attend a caucus of the Labour Party and the session of Parliament which begins on Wednesday. Flying Officer P. S. Fougere, son of Mr and Mrs H. P. Fougere, arrived in Invercargill by the express on Saturday after three years’ service with the Air Force. He enlisted for service in the air at the beginning of the war and after training in New Zealand went overseas in May 1940. He was in action in the United Kingdom and the Middle East and has now been allotted to duties in the Pacific zone which he will take up after spending about a week in Invercargill. The Ven. Archdeacon J. A. Lush and the Rev. A. J. T. Fraser will leave today to attend the Anglican Synod in Dunedin this week. Flight-Lieutenant H. Davy, Publicity Officer fox - the Royal New Zealand Air Force, is at present in Invercargill for the purpose of arranging for the visit of the Air Force Band of the R.N.ZA.F. He leaves today on his return north. Mr J. J. W. Pollard, assistant to the Director of Publicity, has recovered from his recent illness, and has resumed duty. Mr E. C. Huie, of Waikouaiti, who acted while Mr Pollard was indisposed, has returned south.
