The Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting was held yesterday in showery weather. The track was holding and there was a large attendance. The totalizator handled £97,658/10/-, an increase of £27,462 on the corresponding day last year. Lovaals surprised in the Mitchelson Cup. returning nearly three-quarters of a century. Representative won the Great Northern Guineas decisively. The favourite, Bonny Pay, was sent back badly when in a good position.
