GIANT SEARCHLIGHTS NEAR CALAIS
(Rec. 1 a.m.) LONDON, October 8. The Germans tonight operated two giant searchlights installed near Calais, whose beams are so powerful that they stretch from coast to coast, clearly lighting the British foreshore.
