Former Secretary Of Patriotic Council (P.A.) AUCKLAND, October 9. Mr K. L. Usmar, who recently resigned the secretaryship of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council, has written to the Mayor, Mr J. A. C. Allum, returning the amount represented by three months’ leave in recognition of valuable extra work when he resigned to take an important position in Wellington. . “Greatly though I appreciated the gesture by the council, and notwithstanding the intimation I received that members did not intend to permit the patriotic fund to suffer,” Mr Usmar wrote, “I have decided, in the interests of the fund, to ask the council ta rescind its decision.”
