GREEK RESISTANCE

New Zealanders In Crete (Rec. 7.35 p.m.) LONDON, October 7. The latest news from Greece confirms reports that resistance is stiffening, in spite of privations and the terror regime of the Gestapo and the Italian and German military commands, says the Istanbul correspondent of The Times. Two thousand persons are reported to have been arrested in Athens for a series of bomb attacks against Italians and Germans. General Mandakas is still holding out in the Cretan mountains, from which German outposts are raided almost daily. Many British, Australian and New Zealand soldiers are fighting under General Mandakas.
