Mr Willkie In Chungking (Rec. 7 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Oct. 6 "We’re ready to deliver some knockout punches if I can believe my own eyes,” said Mr Wendell Willkie in a statement after his fourth conference with Marshal Chiang Kai-shek. My personal opinion is that the time has come for an all-out armed offensive everywhere,” he said. Mr Willkie pointed out that Ins travels had covered 13 kingdoms and governments. He had found four things common to all:— (1) A desire to win. (2) Desire for offensive now. (3) Desire for independence after the war. (4) Desire for a clear-cut renunciation of any imperialistic designs by the western nations in Asia. “In varying degrees toe people of all 13 countries doubt toe dependability and readiness of the leading democracies to insist on the freedom of others after the war,” he said. “This no doubt militates against enthusiastic war cooperation.” JAPANESE REVERSE Fighting Near Kinhwa (Rec. 1 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Oct. 6.
