CHARGE OF RECEIVING STOLEN GOODS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 6. Charged with receiving stolen property knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained, Sydney Klinberg, soft goods manufacturer, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., who committed the accused to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed. Raymond John Watts, former buyer for Woolworths (N.Z.) Ltd., who was recently committed for trial on charges of theft and failure to account, was a Crown witness. Klinberg was charged with receiving from Watts 4300 yards of stolen georgette and 5000 yards of stolen kabe crepe of a total value of £1179/5/10, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained.
