Changeable (Special) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. Following is the special weather forecast for Southland, issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington:— Moderate to fresh westerly winds, strong at times in Foveaux Strait. The weather changeable with occasional passing showers; temperatures becoming colder. The weather in Invercargill yesterday was fine and sunny with a south-westerly wind during the afternoon. At 1 o’clock this morning the weather was mild, calm and heavily overcast. The barometer reading was 29.62 in. (falling). The Tides.—High water. Invercargill, 9.54 a.m.; 10-22 p.m. Bluff, 9.13 a.m.; 9.41 p.m. Riverton, 8.13 a.m.; 8.41 p.m. Oretl Beach, 8.22 a.m.; 8.50 p.m. The Sun. —Rises, 7.13 a.m.; sets, 6.20 p.m.
