BOWLERS’ BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIPS

The annual billiards and snooker championships for bowlers will be opened at the Commercial Billiards room (Don street) tonight. Eight clubs have entered for both events which will be completed next Tuesday night. Following is the draw for the opening rounds tonight:— Billiards—Northend v. Makarewa; R.S.A. v. Invercargill; Georgetown v. Southland: Te Rang! v. Waihopai. Snooker Pairs—Waihopai v. Makarewa; R.S.A. v. Te Rang!; Southland v. Invercargill; Georgetown v. Northend. ■' The championships will be conducted by the Invercargill Combined Bowling Clubs’ Social Committee. The supervisors are Messrs G. O. Grant and A. E. Barlow and the referee is Mr T. Pasco. All profits from the championships are to be handed over to the patriotic funds.
