REQUESTS FOR STRETCHERS REFUSED
An application from the Waikiwi School Committee for a first aid stretcher for the school was refused by the Southland Education Board at its meeting yesterday because it is not the policy of the board to make such provision. The letter from the committee stated: "This matter is very important as we have had one serious accident at the school when a stretcher was badly needed. In these days it is essential to be prepared for anything.” A similar request from the North Invercargill School Committee was also refused.
