ART UNION RESULTS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 26. The principal prizes in the “Lucky Charm” art union, drawn today, were won by the following:— First (£2000).—13,546, “Be Up,” Waikare, Dunedin. Second (£500).—15,232, “Heroic Star ” Otaki Third (£250).—159,487, “J.W.,” Palmerston North. Fourth (£150).—180,218, “Fiji,” Christchurch butt. Fifth (£100).—39,196, “Native Song,” Maretu. £5 prize—l3B,4o4, “Lucky Fred, Singer Taxis, Invercargill. WINNER OF FIRST PRIZE (P.A.) DUNEDIN, August 26. The winner of the first prize in the “Lucky Charm" art union is Mr Charles McCaskill, of 37 Cralghall Crescent, Wakari, Dunedin, Mr McCaskill Is an elderly man. a carpenter and joiner, and is a well-known bowler. Today he was suffering from influenza, but Mrs McCaskill stated that the windfall came as a great surprise, more especially as he rarely bought a ticket in an art union. Mr McCaskill is a member of a home defence unit.
