CANADA’S WAR EFFORT CRITICIZED
(Rec. 7 p.m.) PORT ARTHUR, (Ontario), Aug. 24. The Premier, Mr M. F. Hepburn, criticized Canada’s war effort. People still sheltered, he declared, behind the American Eagle and the British Lion. “We can never fight the war with a narrow-minded, bigoted party in charge in Ottawa,” he said. ‘We had better stop losing the war before we talk about winning it.”
