Before enlisting Major Robbie was a member of the staff of J. G. Ward and Company, Limited, and Lieutenant Brown was cable sub-editor of The Southland Times. The three men at the rear are Captain Howell, Lieutenant Rollinson (Timaru), and Lieutenant B. Pleasants (Auckland).
