N.Z.E.F. TIMES COMPLETES FIRST YEAR

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 24. The N.Z.E.F. Times, published in the Middle East and issued free to New Zealand troops, has completed its first year of publication. Unlike the majority of newspapers, it does not wish itself long life, its objective being to serve the New Zealand Forces in the Middle East as long as that is necessary. The main feature of the paper is the New Zealand news sent weekly from the Publicity Director’s office in Wellington. Support from the National Patriotic Fund was given in the paper’s initial stages, but since the first two issues the advertising revenue has been sufficient to cover publication costs. The substantial contribution made by the New Zealand Government has met the cost of the cable service and has supplied other news services.
