COLLECTION OF ERGOT

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 21. During the past ergot campaign almost one ton of ergot has been collected, according to an announcement by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. J. G. Barclay, tonight. He added that small quantities were still coming to hand, and stated that as he was anxious to have all the available ergot forwarded to Britain as soon as possible it was necessary that all supplies should be in the hands of merchants before the end of this month. Although the season had not been very favourable, the Minister considered that the campaign had been successful. Everyone who assisted could be assured that their efforts had been well worth while and the results would be of great assistance to the United Klpgcjom,
