RECLAMATION OF WASTE.— An offer of men employed by the New Zealand Paper Mills Ltd. to assist and advise in the handling of waste paper at the Invercargill depot was accepted by the committee of the Southland Provincial Council for the Reclamation of Waste at a meeting yesterday. Mr J. Pickard presided and said that the depot had as much waste paper as it could handle at present. Citizens were asked, however, to save waste paper, all of which would be handled in due course. Information was received at the meeting that £2OB had been credited to Southland from the sale of waste. Mrs J. G. Macdonald reported that the Girl Guides Association had been requested to collect cotton waste for the Army and Air Force.
