MR CURTIN CAUGHT IN RAID ALERT

(Rec. J 0.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 20. The Prime Minister, Mr John Curtin, and Mrs Curtin were caught in Brisbane’s first air raid alert today. They were on the railway station when the warning was sounded. Mr Curtin and his wife took their places in the queue and went to an underground shelter. There was no sign of enemy aircraft. The cause of the alert was not announced.
